A lifeguard’s uniform consists of a brightly colored shirt swimming shorts and sneakers. Nothing fancy but all practical for the job.
As a lifeguard you must follow code of conduct to keep all from going to hell. You cant be to nice or to stern you must fined that happy middle so you can become friends with the people but also you words will hold some weight when needed. One of the first things they taught me in lifeguard training is to stand as if you can be approached. If you have you eyes on the ground and your hands crossed then people might be hesitant to ask for help or a question. This is important because preventing disaster is a lifeguard’s mane job and having a better relationship with the people at the pool beach or were ever you may work will make it a lot easier.

Yes body language plays a huge role in whether or not someone will approach another person. As a lifegaurd it is very important that people feel comfortable enough with you to ask you questions and ask for help. That's a very important part of the job that I really had not thought of before, glad to know it's a part of your training.
